Description
Following its launch in 1959 the classic Mini was soon on its way to becoming a global icon especially after partnering with Cooper in the early 60’s to develop the fabled Cooper & Cooper S variants. Not long after the Cooper S’s release it was entered in the Monte Carlo Rallye which sensationally it won in 1964 & 65. Production of the classic Mini continued until 2000 when the last one rolled off the production line however this was swiftly followed by the new generation BMW Mini which launched in the same year. Scorpion have been producing performance exhausts for the classic and new generation Mini’s for over 30 years, so it was natural that we became chief technical partner with the increasingly popular Mini Challenge race series ensuring true track to road technology transfer for our products.
Scorpion Redpower are proud to be technical partners and joint lead sponsor of the MINI Challenge racing series which now supports the famous BTCC championship. This technical partnership follows the brands track to road technology transfer vision, everything the company gains from working with these professional racing series gets passed onto the end customer for the road and as a result of this we are pleased to release Mini Challenge exhaust options for the Cooper S inc JCW F56 GPF model (UK & European models only).
Constructed from premium grade 304 stainless steel, the new GPF-back system has been designed in partnership with the increasingly popular Mini Challenge series as a direct replacement of the more restrictive OEM systems. The F56 GPF back non-resonated exhaust is made from 76mm/3″ pipework and comes with 90mm twin STW polished tailpipes. Also, to compliment the system we have developed resonated or non-resonated GPF delete pipes.
The new precision hand-built systems have been designed to improve power by increasing gas flow and perfectly balancing back pressure. As well as increasing power, buyers will notice a sharper throttle response. With high quality materials used in development and motorsport-based knowledge built from over 20 years’ experience in high-end race series.
