Once you have placed your order. We require either your vehicle registration or if you are outside of the UK, then we require your vehicle VIN/Chassis number so we can ensure this product is 100% compatible with your BMW.

Once purchased we will require your vehicle registration or VIN number. Certain models / year build have a cross over in design from a step in the SMF to the input shaft spline count. To confirm the correct hand-built drive plate, Pressure plate and SMF are dispatched on time we require the above information from you. If your gear box has been removed already then please confirm with your mechanic and let us know asap.

Auto – Manual conversion.

We must be informed of the gearbox number and type of spline (most common our 10 and 22).

If the incorrect clutch and SMF has been ordered for your vehicle we will NOT accept any returns for Hand Built Twin Friction or Paddle designs. We may accept them back in return for a replacement, but it is the buyer’s responsibility to order the correct application / item.

The customer will have to return the original item at their own cost and a new courier charge of £12.50 will be invoiced (UK ONLY, Export fees will vary).

The clutch plate in this BMW E36 / E46 clutch kit utilises a paddle design, resulting in a clutch rated to 705nm / 520 ft/lbs of torque. This means the kit is suitable for all performance needs. The clutch is ideal for track and drift cars who don’t want the clutch to be the part of there car to let them down. The size of the clutch is 240mm and this kit comes with all bolts required for the single mass conversion.
This product is suitable for the vehicles within the stated fitment list that uses a 22 SPLINE drive shaft.

Benefits of an Single Mass Flywheel.
The SMF replaces the out dated DMF.  We have designed the SMF to carry the same weight as a DMF but the springs are transferred to the Twin Friction drive plate.  This helps the application transfer heat more economically.  The springs in the drive Plate allow for the standard peddle feel and removes any judder as with the DMF design.

RTS unique “Twin Friction” (drive plate) has been developed using a unique flywheel side friction material whilst adopting a segmented pressure plate face. The aramid friction exhibits 50% less wear than a conventional drive plate friction material.
This material also reduces the effects of fade. Fade is the decline in the clutch system’s ability to transmit torque as operating temperatures increases. These features in combination with the previously mentioned micro-structure of spheroidal casting and ER2 technology allows the clutch kit to dissipate heat far more effectively, allowing the clutch to run cooler for longer. RTS kit has been designed with a higher clamp load enabling the clutch system to transmit 60% more torque over the standard clutch kit and is suitable for every day driving, fast road and track/circuit racing whilst maintaining user-friendly driving experience. RTS Twin Friction kit has been designed with a higher clamp load allowing.

RTSHD-5254SMF (Organic) has been designed and manufactured to significantly exceed the original clutch system whilst also maintaining OE pedal effort, thus delivering a torque capacity of 365 lbs/ft of torque.
RTSTF-5254SMF (Twin friction) has been designed and manufactured to significantly exceed the original clutch system whilst also maintaining OE pedal effort, thus delivering a torque capacity of 440 lbs/ft of torque.
RTSPC-5254SMF (5 paddle) has been designed and manufactured to significantly exceed the original clutch system whilst also maintaining OE pedal. effort, thus delivering a torque capacity of 520 lbs/ft of torque.
