Important Fitment Advice

Replacing SAC (Self adjusting clutch) design with conventional replacement.

The enclosed parts differ in appearance to the original equipment design.

DO NOT USE A SAC SPECIALISED CLAMP TOOL WHEN INSTALLING THIS CLUTCH KIT



We have carried out stringent testing and evaluation to ensure the units are suitable alternatives.

Using a SAC Alignment / clamping tool will pre-load the clutch resulting in eventual failure of the unit and CSC.
  1. Pre-loading a non-SAC clutch will cause the CSC to overextend resulting in its failure. This is due to the Pressure plate diaphragm spring fingers being pushed too far down by pre-loading.
  2. The picture shows a failed CSC which has been overloaded against a new CSC (unused). You can see the inner piston has been pushed up to far (overreached) due to the diaphragm spring fingers being to far away. This is not a manufacturing error but a common install error on performance applications. DO NOT USE A SAC ALIGNMENT / CLAMP TOOL ON A NON-SAC CLUTCH
  3. Pre-Loading a Non-SAC Clutch could cause the drive plate to be pre-engaged. You quite often get a white ring or scratch markings on the underneath of the diaphragm spring finger where the drive plate stopper pins have been fouling against the metal.
  4. You may also experience an overreaching peddle feel as the CSC cannot mate with the diaphragm spring fingers. Hydraulic CSC pistons eventually pops forward as the unit is overreaching. It could also lead to the clutch being in a semi (pre-engaged) position which means the drive plate is constantly in contact with the pressure plate of flywheel. Again, this is not a manufacturing error but an install error.
